Executive Summary

There have had significant senior leadership changes and the new vision and business strategy means there is a need to transform the workforce to deliver the future needs. A Talent framework is required identifying the people strategy and delivering across all the people processes using Korn Ferry Talent hub with Korn Ferry Leadership Architect at its heart.

The Brief

The organization has a large proportion of long serving employees. There is no existing competency framework in place, however the values have been well embedded and there is a history of high quality development initiatives. Identifying the competency framework including Core, and levels and then success profiles is a priority. The team will then be able to develop people to fulfill the success profiles and recruit for them. Succession planning and performance management processes can then be updated.

The Solution

We ran an inhouse bespoke two-day Leadership Architect Certification for 12 key HR and Talent leaders early December 2018. The certification used real examples to work on so that by the end the team had templates of:

  • core competencies
  • senior leader competencies
  • role profiles for 2 jobs which were critical.

The team became confident at using the Korn Ferry Leadership Architect tools and research and we started to plan the implementation. This programme was designed to support the HR team in being self-sufficient in creating and then implementing the Leadership Architect across the various processes so that they can support the business effectively in the strategic transformation.

All the exercises were designed with the specific and unique needs of the organisation in mind, particularly taking into account the challenges of implementing a transformational people strategy is very fast time frame.

The Results

The tailored in house certification delivered was very well attended and received, with participants liking the practical exercises and tools, the balance of theory and exercises and the interactive, fun style. They liked that we worked on their “real stuff” during the practical exercises and were able to have a detailed plan of implementation which meant they could start straight away.
